I am an Associate Professor of Economics at El Colegio de México (COLMEX). I hold a PhD in Economics from Princeton University. I am currently an Academic Guest at the University of Zurich for the 2025–2026 academic year.
My research is in applied microeconomics, with a focus on health economics and development economics. I study how policies and environmental factors shape health outcomes, fertility, and labor market behavior — with a particular focus on Mexico and Latin America. Current projects examine the economics of menopause, the legacy effects of Mexico's flagship social transfer programs, and the relationship between healthcare provider wellbeing and productivity.
My work has been published in the Journal of Health Economics, JAMA Pediatrics, The World Bank Economic Review, Journal of Population Economics, Economic Development and Cultural Change, and other journals.
